WHR Desktop Trains

The graphics below are almost all the work of Aidan Stell. He and John Savage have prepared a Welsh Highland Railway module for the well-known and highly entertaining animated Railway32 Screensaver for Windows by Mark Goodspeed (new URL). Registered users of the screensaver can now get a taste of WHR trains running across their Windows desktop. Once you've downloaded and registered it, follow instructions for joining the railway32 group at Yahoo! Groups - this is where this and many other extra modules are available for free download, together with instructions on how to install and run them (NB the instructions link above will only work after you have joined the group, and provided you are logged into Yahoo! Groups with the Yahoo! ID under which you joined the group).

The graphics feature not only existing rolling stock, but some future "possibles", such as how the NG15 locomotives might look once overhauled and modified, and diesel railcars based on the style of the existing carriages. There's a little bit of artistic licence, and some proportions are slightly altered to suit the operation of the screensaver (though they're pretty close).

Various train formations have been assembled below - for obvious reasons you will have to scroll to the right to see everything. If you'd like to suggest an interesting formation to add to the page, please email - details foot of WHR Project homepage. The available graphics are shown here. In the meantime, enjoy!
