This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of rail resources on the Web. The links below are ones that may be of immediate interest to people taking an interest in preserved or independent railways, with a particular slant towards narrow gauge.

• The End of the World Train/El Tren del Fin del Mundo - Thousands of miles from the WHR, there is a narrow gauge railway with a Garratt which started out based on our K1. It acts as an environmentally friendly way to visit a National Park. Sounds familiar...!
• The 7mm Narrow Gauge Association - modelling group.
• Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society - support group for the famous narrow gauge line in India, recently designated a World Heritage Site.
• The Colonel Stephens' Museum - commemorating this important figure in Welsh Highland history.

• The Great Little Trains of Wales - The GLToW is a joint marketing organisation involving most of the Welsh narrow gauge railways.

• Rudyard Lake Steam Railway - A narrow gauge-style miniature line in Staffordshire run by a WHR member.

• The 2 Foot Preservation Trust, South Africa - includes picture coverage of the April 2002 Great 400 Working at the Sandstone Steam Railroad, with not only a green NGG16, but also the return to steam of their ex-Beira Railway Lawley 4-4-0. May be a slow download but definitely worth it!
• Beyer Peacock - a site by Alan Taylor about the builders of the WHR Garratts. N.B. not associated with the present owners of "Beyer Peacock" as a trading name.
• The Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington Railway Museum - history and rebuilding of one of the USA's legendary "Maine Two Footers".
• The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway - official site, now relaunched.
• Llanberis Lake Railway - one of the WHR's neighbouring railways.
• Fairbourne Railway - Official site of the railway with half-size versions of NWNGR loco Beddgelert, WHR(P)'s Russell, and indeed WHR(C)'s future Lyd.
• 24 Hour Museum - a gateway to over 2,500 UK museums, galleries and heritage attractions.
• Nantlle Vale Steam Loco Survivors - part of the site related to Alan Carr's book Dyffryn Nantlle: a Landscape of Neglect.
• North Wales Coast Railway - Charlie Hulmes very extensive website covering all the mainline railways in the area of the WHR. It also covers local heritage railways.
• Railways in North Wales 1975-1983 - the North Wales main line for a change, in this retrospective by Dave Plimmer.
• The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum - Reopening at Tywyn Wharf in 2005. New site at a new URL, includes a virtual museum section.
• Railways of the Far South - site by WHR volunteer Martin Coombs, replacing his "Welsh narrow gauge in Patagonia" page previously listed on this page.
• Penrhyn Railway Heritage Trust - the Trust aims to reopen a section of the Penrhyn Quarry Railway, two valleys east of the WHR.
• Trains and Rail in South and Southern Africa - includes a great deal of information on South African narrow gauge.
• Östra Södermanlands Järnväg - a fine 60cm gauge railway in Sweden. Note for fans of unusual n.g. locos: they have two Mallets, including (on loan) the only survivor built to the original Decauville pattern.
• Paton's Country Narrow Gauge Railway - Revival of a branch of South Africa's Umzinto-Donnybrook line, from which some of the WHR(C) track and wagons came.
• Steam in Action - a joint initiative to support steam in South Africa. Participants include our partners at Sandstone.
• National Preservation - lively forums concentrating on the UK heritage railway scene.
• The Bennett Brook Railway - a line in Perth, Australia, that runs NG15s.
• The Statfold Barn Railway - a private line in Staffordshire (with a number of annual events open by invitation), and the base of the Hunslet Steam Co.
