This authoritative article by Richard Maund was originally published as a book by the Welsh Highland Heritage Group but it is now out of print. Instead of reprinting, the article is now being made available as a free pdf download. It unravels the complicated history of this crossing where standard gauge and narrow gauge met, and of course do so again today on the reconstructed Welsh Highland Railway.
