A Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

The Welsh Highland Heritage Group has now been registered  with the Charities Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)

A new constitution has been drawn up for the CIO and can be downloaded here

The main benefits of being a CIO are that the Group is recognised as a charity, it has legal personality (the ability to enter contracts, sue and be sued, and to hold property in its own name – rather than in the name of its trustees), and its members have limited liability (their liability in the event the charity becomes insolvent is limited or nil).
