The first heritage trains were run in the summer of 2018 and generated plenty of interest. They consisted of a rake of historic stock pulled by one of the railway’s oldest locomotives.
Sponsored by the Welsh Highland Heritage Group, the trains travelled between Dinas and Rhyd Ddu with on-board guides and packed lunches at Rhyd Ddu.
A photographic stop at Tryfan Junction with a guided tour of this historic spot provided the opportunity to view the restoration of the station building which has been carried out by the Heritage Group.
The success of this venture prompted the Group to repeat the arrangement in 2019
