Rebuilding the Welsh Highland Railway

This archive carries a detailed chronicle of the stages of rebuilding the Welsh Highland Railway from the start of the works up to completion of the Cross Town Link in Porthmadog. The record was set up and maintained by the late Dr Ben Fisher until his untimely death in 2008. After a brief hiatus it was continued by Laurence Armstrong and David Tidy on behalf of Cymdeithas Rheilffordd Eryri, the Welsh Highland Railway Society.

The record is preserved here purely as an archive and is no longer updated. Owing to the passage of time, many of the links have ceased to work  but the story remains unchanged and is a worthy memorial to Ben.
